SEMP SERVICES

Supported Employment Services may be available to people who are looking for help in the area of competitive employment. Generally, the person should be able to work independently in the community for at least 20 hours per week. Employment Services can either be available as a Waiver Service for those eligible for services with OPWDD or through ACCES-VR for those not eligible for Waiver. With Supported Employment, the person can work with a Job Developer/Coach who can help them find a job, develop employment and work skills, learn a new job and stabilize in their employment setting. Once the person has reached a high level of independence at the work site, the Job Coach will continue to visit the site a minimum of two times per month providing support and additional training as needed. The Job Coach also can act as a liaison between the employer and the employee.
